Job Summary

The Automotive Mechanic plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our stores by providing exceptional tire and automotive services. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing vehicles to the highest standards, while delivering an outstanding customer experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and repair vehicles to specifications, including brake and hydraulic, exhaust, electrical, cooling system, suspension, and alignment services.
  • Perform all maintenance services, including those of lower job descriptions (General Service Technician).
  • Explain technical diagnoses and needed repairs to non-mechanical individuals, including employees and customers.
  • Continuously learn new technical information and techniques to stay updated with rapidly changing automotive technology.
  • Train and mentor co-workers, and maintain clean and safe work areas.
Requirements
  • A High School Diploma or GED.
  • 6 months of automotive mechanical problem-solving and repair experience.
  • Section 609 Certification.
  • PREFERRED: State Inspection license if applicable.
  • High level of motivation, energy, and a customer-focused attitude.
  • A valid driver's license.

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to lift, carry, and place merchandise and supplies up to 50 pounds without assistance.
  • Frequent standing and walking for long periods of time.
  • Frequent reaching overhead and below the knees, squatting, bending, stooping, kneeling, twisting.
  • Possesses fine motor skills to safely operate tools.
  • Climb up and down ladders to retrieve merchandise.
  • Communicate effectively in person, by telephone, or by using telecommunications equipment.
  • Enters and locates information on computer.
  • Visually verifies information, often in small print.
  • Safely operates a motor vehicle.

Benefits:

  • The pay range for this position is between $24.00 and $29.00 hr. flat rate based on experience w/ a $20.00 hr. guaranteed.
  • Medical, dental, and vision benefits beginning on the first of the month following or coinciding with your date of hire.
  • Ability to enroll in a retirement plan.
  • PTO.
