Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse 3 - Specialty to join our team at the University of Miami. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for delivering patient-centered care in a culturally competent manner, utilizing evidence-based standards of quality, safety, and service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and document patient interactions and general observations, adhering to unit standards and guidelines.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans, ensuring population-specific considerations and evidence-based practices.
  • Administer and maintain accurate records related to medications and treatments, adhering to regulatory bodies, policies, and procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure seamless care coordination.
  • Participate in the development of policies, procedures, and standards of care, promoting best practices and excellence in patient care.
  • Represent the nursing profession by actively participating in committees and task forces, driving quality improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure effective discharge planning and patient preparation for transition to home or other care settings.
  • Manage own work and time, prioritizing assignments to ensure timely completion and adaptability to changing work demands.
  • Evaluate and provide constructive feedback to colleagues, promoting professional growth and development.
  • Assume preceptorship and mentorship roles, supporting the development of new staff and students.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from an accredited institution.
  • State of Florida Registered Nurse License and Basic Life Support Certification (BLS), ACLS, and other relevant certifications.
  • Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, nursing care methods, and health and safety guidelines.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, analyze problems, and provide solutions.
