Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director/Senior Director of Government Relations to join our team at the Edison Electric Institute. This is a critical role that will play a key part in advancing the policy priorities of shareholder-owned electric companies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Advocate for EEI's policy priorities by educating key stakeholders, including Congress, the Administration, and industry leaders, on electric power industry issues.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive strategies to achieve industry goals through direct advocacy, communications, coalition-building, and third-party outreach.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to create educational materials on legislative and industry issues, draft legislation, amendments, and letters, and support testimony development for congressional committees.
  • Represent EEI at key events, including conferences, coalition meetings, and industry gatherings.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Minimum of 10 years of legislative experience, ideally working with a Member of Congress, a congressional committee, the Administration, or as a lobbyist for a utility or trade association.
  • In-depth knowledge of the federal legislative and political process, with proven ability to manage and coordinate legislative activities.
  • Demonstrated leadership, initiative, and ability to drive results.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, coupled with excellent interpersonal abilities.
What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary range of $130,000 - $200,000 annually, with a starting annual salary determined on individual qualifications. We also offer an annual performance incentive, a comprehensive benefits package, and opportunities for professional development.

This is a hybrid position that requires the incumbent to reside in the District of Columbia metropolitan area and come into the office a minimum of three days each week, with two of the mandatory days being Tuesday and Wednesday.
