Job Title: General Management Director

Position Summary:

The General Management Director is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing the overall operations and strategic direction of a well-established non-profit organization. This position requires a dedicated and passionate individual to lead and shape the future of the organization, ensuring its mission is achieved through effective leadership, comprehensive planning, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement Board-approved business plans that align with the organization's mission and strategic objectives.
  • Operational Management: Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring efficiency, effectiveness, and adherence to legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Program Oversight: Lead the planning, implementation, and execution of the organization's programs, services, and special projects to ensure alignment with strategic goals.
  • Organizational Development: Foster a positive, safe, and legally compliant work environment, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and excellence.
  • Human Resources Management: Determine staffing needs, establish clear personnel policies, and provide coaching and mentorship to staff. Conduct regular performance evaluations.
  • Financial Management: Work with the Board and Finance Committee to develop and manage the organization's budget, ensuring financial stability and risk management.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Serve as the primary liaison between employees and the Board of Directors, facilitating effective communication and collaboration.
  • Community Engagement: Cultivate relationships with external stakeholders and partners to enhance the organization's visibility and impact.
Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in senior leadership roles, preferably within non-profit organizations.
  • Experience growing revenue, managing costs, improving marketing programs, obtaining sponsorships.
  • 10 years of leadership, senior management experience.
  • Marketing, PR, experience as a fundraiser is highly sought after for this position.
  • Experience with museums or historical centers is highly preferred.
  • Strong strategic planning and operational management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a Board of Directors and lead diverse teams.
  • Passion for culture, history, and community engagement.
  • Willingness to work on-site in Bristol, TN, five days a week.

Compensation:

Salary: Base salary of $90,000, with potential adjustments based on candidate qualifications.
