About the Role

Vireo Health LLC is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Procurement Specialist to join our dynamic team. As a key member of our supply chain department, you will be responsible for assisting the lead buyer/supply chain manager in all procurement-related tasks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the purchasing of all inventory, supplies, and capital goods for Vireo Health LLC, including negotiating price, delivery, and credit terms.
  • Evaluate vendors and determine the most cost-effective inventory and reorder levels.
  • Process purchase requisitions, purchase change orders, and delivery confirmations from suppliers.
  • Support and execute on efficient purchasing of inventory, supplies, and capital equipment for the company.
  • Receive purchase requisitions, verify for accuracy and authorization(s), and source new vendors when necessary.
  • Prepare and issue purchase orders, determine and negotiate prices, delivery, and credit terms, and buy according to established company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate purchasing records and assist in the review of PPE inventory levels to ensure adequate supply.
  • Coordinate with Accounts Payable all invoicing of orders and the execution of capital expenditures once approved for purchase.
  • Track all shipments and meet Need by Dates of materials, timely placement of POs, and coordination of delivery to include the management of orders by established lead times to ensure no stock outs of production materials.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with major carriers, to include UPS, FedEx, and freight forwarders as appropriate.
  • Evaluate, assess, and select vendors based on capabilities, performance, and consistent quality assurance, and maintain rapport and good working relationships with vendors.
  • Evaluate inventory reorder levels and quantity price breaks to determine the most economical purchasing of inventory and supplies in relation to the company's cost of capital.
  • Support the Lead Buyer on preparing monthly reports and reviews forecast of purchasing commitments with Finance leadership.
  • Expedite purchase orders as necessary and ensure delivery of purchased items for uninterrupted manufacturing flow.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or 4+ years of relevant experience is required; degree in business or related field is strongly preferred.
  • Good communication skills (written, verbal, presentation) are required.
  • Strong interpersonal skills are required for effective communication with vendors, management, and coworkers.
  • Experience using ERP-based purchasing and inventory management and establishing proper inventory management parameters is required.
  • Working knowledge of accounting and purchasing is required, including interpretation and analysis of financial reports and legal documents.
  • Intermediate knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel) with advanced spreadsheet application experience is required.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills are required.
  • Keen attention to detail and accuracy are required.
  • Spanish language proficiency in written and oral form is preferred.
