Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Test Engineer to join our team at General Atomics. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing specialty test equipment and conducting tests for ALRE and hypersonic missile components, as well as electrical ground support equipment for satellites and associated payload systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • ">
  • Design and develop concepts and plans for test programs">
  • Guide the translation of system or product requirements into verification tests and instructions">
  • Create and update test procedures and assist sub-contractors in design and execution of various tests on system, sub-system, and component level electronics">
  • Prepare for and present at test readiness reviews to GA staff and the customer">
  • Install and set-up instrumentation at sites to log data and execute tests as directed by the Test Director">
  • Conduct testing and verification as directed by the Test Director/Manager">
  • Provide technical direction to technicians and subcontractors">
  • Apply technical knowledge to analyze, investigate, and resolve test engineering problems">
  • Identify test data issues and interpret collected data for preparation and creation of test reports">
  • Establish and ensure work is accomplished in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices">

Requirements

  • ">
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution and progressive engineering experience">
  • Thorough understanding of electrical engineering concepts, principles, codes, and theory">
  • Ability to develop and communicate new concepts, apply them accurately throughout an evolving environment, and determine the appropriate approach to provide solutions to complex problems">
  • Strong communication, documentation, presentation, and interpersonal skills">
  • Good computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint">
  • Ability to work extended hours and travel as needed">
  • May be required to obtain and maintain a US security clearance">

$98,100 - $171,398 per annum, depending on experience
