**Job Summary**

Thompson Engineering is seeking a highly skilled Construction Inspector to join our team in the Montgomery, AL area. As a Construction Inspector, you will play a critical role in ensuring that construction projects are completed in accordance with plans and specifications.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • Inspect construction projects to ensure compliance with plans and specifications
  • Verify that construction activities are performed in accordance with industry standards and regulations
  • Document and report on construction activities, including labor and equipment usage
  • Assist with office work, including plotting cross-sections and computing earthwork quantities
  • Interpret specifications and make recommendations for improvements
  • Drive company vehicle safely to and from worksites
  • Conduct all work activities in compliance with Thompson Engineering's Health, Safety & Environmental Management System
  • Attend and participate in safety meetings and training sessions

**Requirements**

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; four-year degree in Civil Engineering preferred
  • Five (5) plus years of experience in construction inspection or a related field
  • ALDOT Bridge construction experience required
  • Ability to be certified in Alabama for Concrete, Roadway Technician, Earthworks, QCI, and MUTCD
  • ACI Certification preferred
  • Intermediate math and geometry skills
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Computer skills, including Word, Excel, and Outlook

**Physical Requirements**

  • Ability to work in the outside elements up to 100% of the time
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 50lbs
  • Required to remain standing for a minimum of eight (8) hours per day
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, and climb on a ladder
  • Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing
  • Ability to drive a company vehicle to and from job sites
