Job Summary:

The Radiology Technologist is responsible for performing radiology procedures, ensuring accurate and high-quality imaging results. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and excellent patient care. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in radiologic technology, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Assist clinical providers with various procedures, treatments, and surgeries, utilizing sterile techniques and preparing surgical trays and equipment.
• Administer imaging tests and treatments as prescribed by clinical providers, following established protocols to produce high-quality radiology images.
• Position and instruct patients in preparation for Special Procedures exams, utilizing multiple imaging modalities as instructed by physicians.
• Provide support to physicians performing interventional procedures, either by scrubbing to assist or circulating.
• Follow department guidelines to correctly identify patients and enter patient information into imaging systems.
• Make adjustments to imaging equipment for each examination, ensuring radiation doses are within acceptable standards.
• Properly image cases and archive to PACS, utilizing the Radiology Information Systems to maintain accurate patient records.
• Track and secure supplies according to departmental guidelines.
• Troubleshoot Radiology Imaging equipment/systems as needed, placing service calls and informing supervisors and charge nurses.

Qualifications/Requirements:

• One-year experience as a Radiologic Technologist, preferred.
• Graduate of an approved Radiologic Technology Certification Program.
• Licensed by the New York State Department of Health as a Radiologic Technologist. Registered by the American Registry of Radiology Technologists (ARRT) required.
