Position Overview:

The Radiologic Nuclear Medicine Specialist plays a crucial role in the healthcare team by applying radioisotopes to specific areas of the body, aiding physicians in the identification, diagnosis, and treatment of various medical conditions. This position requires adept handling of nuclear imaging equipment, patient interaction, and meticulous record-keeping.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and guide patients for nuclear imaging procedures, ensuring comfort and understanding.
  • Administer intravenous injections as necessary for imaging processes.
  • Adjust and calibrate nuclear imaging equipment according to the specifications provided by the supervising physician.
  • Manage emergency situations effectively, ensuring patient safety at all times.
  • Oversee the processing of nuclear medicine images and maintain comprehensive records of procedures.
  • Conduct routine maintenance and troubleshooting of imaging equipment to ensure optimal functionality.
  • Coordinate with medical staff to facilitate timely and efficient patient care.
  • Participate in the training and mentoring of junior staff in nuclear medicine techniques.
  • Engage in ongoing education to stay current with advancements in Nuclear Medicine Technology.

Qualifications:

Experience: Comprehensive knowledge of nuclear medicine practices, equipment operation, and safety protocols. Ability to effectively communicate and instruct others while providing compassionate care to patients.

Education: Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology Program and certification in Nuclear Technology is mandatory.

Licenses/Certifications: Current certification and registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board.
