Position Overview:
The Senior Electrical and Instrumentation Reliability Specialist plays a crucial role in enhancing the reliability of electrical systems within the Maintenance and Reliability division. This position is integral to the operations at the facility, utilizing advanced Reliability Engineering methodologies and statistical analysis to optimize performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and enhance preventative and predictive maintenance initiatives for electrical and instrumentation equipment.
- Manage E&I activities in accordance with the Management of Change protocols.
- Support capital projects from the design phase through to commissioning.
- Identify and engage with preferred equipment manufacturers and industry specialists.
- Conduct inspections of newly installed and repaired E&I equipment, providing recommendations for spare parts.
- Offer technical support to E&I technicians and contractors as required.
- Guide the implementation of new E&I technologies and ensure compliance with plant standards.
- Develop and enforce reliability and maintenance procedures specific to E&I systems.
- Create Reliability Control Plans for critical electrical and instrumentation assets.
- Engage in failure analysis and recommend corrective measures.
- Lead Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) teams and apply lean methodologies to improve processes.
- Participate in Reliability-focused Failure Modes and Effects Analyses as necessary.
- Implement reliability control strategies for E&I systems as part of an asset risk management framework.
- Assist in troubleshooting E&I equipment performance issues as needed.
- Actively contribute to safety programs and maintain a thorough understanding of Process Safety Management and OSHA regulations.
- Engage in various aspects of the company’s operational systems.
- Perform additional duties as required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in reliability engineering with a focus on instrumentation and controls.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in maintenance and reliability engineering within chemical or petrochemical facilities.
- Knowledge of electrical design, repair techniques, and performance evaluation.
- Familiarity with predictive maintenance technologies.
- Understanding of safety protocols in hazardous environments.
- Strong communication, organizational, and leadership abilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions and perform physical tasks in an industrial setting.
