Med Surg Registered Nurse

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Med-Surg Registered Nurse to join our team at Riverside Community Hospital. As a Med-Surg Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and working collaboratively with our interdisciplinary team to achieve excellent patient outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement individual patient care plans in accordance with standards of nursing practice through implementation of the nursing process and nursing diagnosis
- Administer medications as ordered for specific group of patients and demonstrates knowledge of their modes of action, side effects and contraindications
- Initiate, regulate and otherwise manages IV therapy for a specific group of assigned patients
- Assume responsibility for patient placement on the unit and assignment of care responsibilities that consider complexity of nursing care required by each patient
- Demonstrate competence in the clinical knowledge, skills required and technology of the department employed in the care of patients on the unit
- Evaluate patient environment for safety and communicates identified concerns to the appropriate person in a timely manner
- Provide patient education and keeps patient informed of treatment plan
- Maintains a safe, comfortable and therapeutic environment for patient/families in accordance with hospital standards
Qualifications
- Valid California RN license
- Current BCLS certification required
- National RN Certification preferred
- Graduate from an accredited school of nursing
- Minimum of one year of acute care hospital experience in an area of specialty preferred
About Riverside Community Hospital
Riverside Community Hospital is a large acute care facility with 517 beds, established in 1901. It has the most extensive Emergency Room and Level I Trauma Center in the Inland Empire region and is the primary recipient of STEMI (heart attack) cases in Riverside County. The hospital is accredited as a Chest Pain Center and Comprehensive Stroke Center and has a HeartCare Institute that offers both invasive and non-invasive cardiac procedures. Riverside has a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, which it is very proud of.
