Job Overview:

The Budget Coordinator role at the State of New Mexico involves overseeing financial operations and budgetary processes. This position is essential for managing expenditures and conducting revenue assessments.

Qualified candidates should possess a Bachelor’s degree, as this role is integral to the agency's annual budget preparation and submission processes.


Key Responsibilities:
- Salary: $40.90 Hourly
- Annual Salary Range: $53,165 - $85,064
- Pay Band: 70

This position will be responsible for:

  • Collaborating with various divisions to ensure accurate budget projections and expenditure oversight.
  • Assisting in the development of the annual budget request and operational budget in accordance with established guidelines.
  • Supporting the Budget Bureau Chief in the collection and reporting of performance metrics.
  • Reviewing monthly budget projections and preparing adjustment requests as necessary.

Ideal Candidate: The successful candidate will have experience in:

  • Preparing annual budget requests and operational budgets.
  • Utilizing financial management software.
  • Conducting budget projections and governmental budgeting.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, particularly with pivot tables.

Minimum Qualifications: An Associate's degree in Economics, Statistics, or Business Administration along with two years of relevant experience in data analysis or financial management.

Employment Requirements: A valid New Mexico Driver's License is required, and candidates must pass a pre-employment background check.

Working Conditions: The role may involve working in a correctional facility, requiring flexibility in work hours, including potential overtime and weekend shifts.
