About the Role

The Airframe and Powerplant Mechanic Helper will assist in the maintenance of company aircraft and perform general hangar cleaning under the direct supervision of the assigned Mechanic or Repairman. This role is ideal for individuals who are eager to learn and gain hands-on experience in the aviation industry.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist AandP Mechanics and Repairmen in the replacement, installation, maintenance, and repair of aircraft components.
  • Utilize hand tools or power tools to adjust, connect/disconnect wiring, piping, tubing, panels, and other aircraft parts.
  • Support coworkers by providing tools and supplies, maintaining cleanliness in work areas, and assisting with holding materials or tools.
  • Take part in the assembly and disassembly of machinery, equipment, components, and parts.
  • Clean and lubricate machinery, equipment, instruments, tools, work areas, and other objects using power tools and cleaning equipment.
  • Position vehicles, machinery, equipment, physical structures, and other objects for assembly or installation using hand tools, power tools, and moving equipment.
  • Assist with preheating, deicing, aircraft launch and recovery, servicing, fluids, snow removal, and hangar recovery.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Comply with all safety aspects, practices, and procedures of the work scope and position(s).
  • Be familiar with the Company's Safety Management System (SMS) and Occupational Safety Manual (OSM).
  • Contribute to the Safety Culture of the Company and report any Safety Hazards.
  • Learn and understand Dangerous Goods Transportation requirements.
  • Keep work areas clean and free of hazards; correct unsafe conditions when encountered and report those that you are unable to personally correct to a supervisor.
Requirements
  • Ability to understand and retain verbal and written information.
  • Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, benefits, repair, and maintenance.
  • Manual dexterity to assemble and disassemble intricate assemblies.
  • Frequent lifting of weights of 70 pounds or more.
  • Ability to stand on hard surfaces, floors, ladders, and work stands for extended periods of time.
