Amentum is seeking a highly skilled Aviation Maintenance Technician I to join our team. As an Avionics Systems Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing aircraft avionics systems, including electrical wiring and aircraft system avionics.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain and repair aircraft components, including flight controls, engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems, and mechanical components.
- Perform preflight, thru-flight, and post-flight maintenance inspections.
- Apply technical knowledge of airframe and power plant systems to determine equipment malfunctions.
- Apply required expertise in restoring equipment condition and operation.
- Supervise the jacking and towing of aircraft and verify the work was performed satisfactorily.
- May service engines and airframe components at line station, making repairs short of overhaul, required to keep aircraft in safe operating condition.
- May specialize in work, repair, and modification of structural, precision, and functional spare parts and assemblies.
- May troubleshoot malfunctions in aircraft structure, landing gear, flight surfaces and controls, anti-icing, pneudraulic, engines, auxiliary power unit, and ventilation and heating systems.
- Three years of aviation maintenance experience.
- Two years of rotary wing aircraft experience.
- Two years of experience on the assigned Mission Design Series (MDS).
- A valid up-to-date A&P license is preferred but not required.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a NACI(T1) Public Trust Security Clearance.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization.
The work is performed in an Aircraft maintenance hangar that is moderately lighted, heated, and ventilated. The work could be performed outside as well.
Physical Demands- Frequently lifts parts and equipment up to 25 pounds.
- Occasionally lifts objects up to 50 pounds.
- Most heavy lifting is accomplished through the use of mechanical devices.
