Job Description

At Veterans Bridge Home, we are seeking a highly skilled Accounting Manager to oversee and manage our daily financial operations. The ideal candidate will have expertise in nonprofit accounting and be proficient in using accounting software.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the general ledger, ensuring accurate financial reporting and leading the month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Utilize Sage Intacct for financial reporting, budgeting, and analysis, ensuring accurate data entry and integration with other systems.
  • Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts, providing key insights to the Director of Finance and senior leadership team.
  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring compliance with GAAP and nonprofit-specific reporting standards.
  • Coordinate with external auditors for the annual audit, prepare necessary documentation, and ensure timely completion of audit deliverables.
  • Ensure all grant-related financial activities are accurately documented and compliant with relevant guidelines.
  • Develop and maintain internal control policies and procedures to safeguard the organization's financial assets and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Supervise, mentor, and support the professional development of staff, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the execution of organizational market activities and events as requested by providing on-site administrative support, logistics, and ensuring smooth operations.
  • Provide front desk support by managing incoming phone calls, routing them appropriately, and greeting visitors in a professional and welcoming manner when scheduled.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, with at least 2 years in a nonprofit organization.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software, Sage Intacct preferred, Microsoft Office. Strong understanding of GAAP and nonprofit financial reporting requirements.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to analyze complex financial data.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Team-Oriented: Proven ability to work collaboratively across departments and manage a team in a fast-paced environment.
