Position Summary
As a Criminal Support Specialist, you will perform clerical and support tasks essential to the court system. Your work will adhere to established guidelines and require meticulous attention to detail. You will receive training in court case management systems and customer service support. Responsibilities include processing confidential documents, scheduling hearings, implementing court policies, and providing phone support to the public and legal community.
Key Responsibilities
  • Manage workflows related to the criminal court process;
  • Ensure the timely flow of documents between clerks and judges;
  • Research records and comprehend various legal documents;
  • Create legal forms, letters, reports, and related materials;
  • Sort, stamp, record, and file diverse legal and judicial documents;
  • Maintain accurate files and records;
  • Process all types of cases and documents presented to the court;
  • Read and route incoming correspondence and prepare files for responses;
  • Explain policies and procedures to the public and legal professionals;
  • Update databases as necessary;
  • Review documents for compliance with standards;
  • Respond to inquiries via correspondence;
  • Manage databases for specific legal areas;
  • Schedule hearing dates and maintain calendars;
  • Process incoming Hearing Notices;
  • Assist in refining court procedures;
  • Collaborate with external agencies to resolve issues;
  • Participate in training sessions;
  • Assist in troubleshooting operational issues;
  • Perform specialized tasks related to sensitive court processes;
  • Answer phone inquiries from the public and agencies;
  • Operate office equipment efficiently.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Collect filing fees and fines;
  • Cross-train in other areas to provide coverage as needed;
  • Perform related duties as required.
Qualifications
