The General Manager (GM) serves as a full-time salaried leader, embodying the essence of Regal Cinemas. Key Responsibilities

Essential Duties:

  • Maintain regular and consistent attendance.
  • Implement and uphold all Regal policies as per corporate directives.
  • Ensure adherence to cash management policies and procedures.
  • Oversee concession inventory to minimize shortages and spoilage.
  • Supervise janitorial staff to guarantee cleanliness standards are met daily.
  • Manage the hiring, training, development, and scheduling of theatre staff.
  • Administer all necessary paperwork in compliance with Human Resources policies.
  • Ensure compliance with alcohol certification and training where applicable.
  • Supervise all technical staff, including projection and audio-visual operations.
  • Control operating costs and manage inventory for daily operations.
  • Oversee theatre maintenance and coordinate repairs as needed.
  • Monitor risk management protocols for guest and employee safety.
  • Handle guest relations, marketing, and scheduling of film showtimes.
  • Ensure compliance with dress code and maintain a welcoming environment for guests.
  • Participate in the management certification program.
  • Review and understand Regal’s operational manual.
  • Complete training on workplace policies, including harassment and discrimination.
Qualifications

To excel in this role, candidates must demonstrate the ability to perform essential duties effectively. Reasonable accommodations may be provided for individuals with disabilities.

Education and Experience:

A High School Diploma or equivalent is required, along with two years of post-secondary education in Business or two years of management experience. Familiarity with projection technology and maintenance is preferred.

Language Skills:

Strong public speaking abilities and effective communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential.

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to perform calculations accurately and efficiently.

Reasoning Skills:

Capable of identifying problems, gathering relevant data, and implementing effective solutions.

Technical Skills:

Proficient in PC platforms and basic office software, with the ability to operate office equipment and maintain organized filing systems.

Personal Attributes:

Ability to interact effectively with customers and colleagues, demonstrating sensitivity and leadership qualities.

Supervisory Responsibilities

The GM will supervise a team of employees, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and legal regulations. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training, and performance management.

Physical Requirements

This role requires the ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 60 lbs, and perform various physical tasks. Vision requirements include close and distance vision, along with the ability to adjust focus.
