As a Senior Crime Intelligence Analyst with the Placer County Sheriff's Office, you will play a crucial role in leading and managing the Crime Analysis Unit.
The Sheriff's Office depends on the Crime Analysis Unit for vital information, data, tactical insights, and real-time intelligence regarding ongoing incidents and active criminal investigations.
In your capacity as a Senior Analyst, your responsibilities will extend beyond the Unit, providing strategic guidance on emergency workflows for critical incidents and criminal inquiries.
The Senior classification addresses the most challenging and intricate duties assigned and supervises the Crime Analysis Unit Staff directly.
In this leadership role, you will plan, organize, and oversee the activities of the Crime Analysis Unit for the Sheriff's Office.
Your position will provide highly complex support to both sworn and non-sworn personnel, enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of the Sheriff's Office, improving the quality of life for citizens, and combating crime.
Qualified candidates for the Senior Crime Intelligence Analyst position will undergo a comprehensive background investigation to maintain our high standards of integrity, professionalism, and exceptional leadership qualities.

DEFINITION
To serve as a lead in performing administrative and analytical functions related to crime and intelligence analysis; to identify and communicate crime trends or patterns; and to ensure the completion of tasks in compliance with established policies and procedures.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Experience and Training:
Any combination of experience and training that would provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying.
A typical way to obtain the required knowledge and abilities would be:
Experience:
Two (2) years of responsible professional experience in a law enforcement agency performing duties similar to a Crime Analyst II with Placer County.
Training:
Equivalent to a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in criminal justice, crime analysis, law enforcement/public safety, public administration, intelligence studies, homeland security, statistics and research methodology, computer science, geographic information systems, or a related field.
Required License or Certificate:
Possession of a Crime and Intelligence Analysis certification or equivalent comparable certification. May need to possess a valid driver's license as required by the position.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of:
Principles of supervision, training, and evaluating performance; principles and practices of crime and intelligence analysis; research methods; and pertinent local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
Ability to:
Analyze complex information and data; develop and implement policies and procedures; communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing; and establish effective working relationships.
CONDITION OF EMPLOYMENT
Prior to the date of hire, applicants must undergo a fingerprint test by the Department of Justice, pass a medical examination, and submit proof of U.S. citizenship or legal right to remain and work in the U.S.
