Crime Analyst

Placer County is seeking a highly skilled Crime Analyst to support investigations and provide critical insights to inform public safety efforts.

The Crime Analyst will collect, analyze, and communicate complex data to identify trends, patterns, and relationships in criminal activity. This role will work closely with law enforcement agencies and other stakeholders to develop and implement strategies to prevent and reduce crime.

• Collect and analyze crime data from various sources, including law enforcement reports, crime statistics, and intelligence databases.
• Develop and maintain intelligence databases and statistical tracking systems to identify trends and patterns in criminal activity.
• Conduct complex data mining and data analysis to support investigations and inform public safety efforts.
• Prepare and present reports, briefings, and presentations to stakeholders, including law enforcement agencies, policymakers, and community groups.
• Collaborate with law enforcement agencies and other stakeholders to develop and implement strategies to prevent and reduce crime.
• Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in crime analysis and intelligence gathering.

• Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as criminal justice, criminology, or data analysis.
• At least one year of experience in crime analysis, law enforcement, or a related field.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to collect and analyze complex data.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to present complex information to stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.

This is a full-time position, working in a fast-paced environment with a high level of autonomy. The successful candidate will be required to work in a team environment, with a strong focus on collaboration and communication.
