Job Overview

Essential Qualifications:

  • Doctorate in Psychology or a master's degree in Psychology with appropriate licensure.
  • Licensed by the Pennsylvania Board of Psychology; if licensed in another state, must obtain Pennsylvania licensure within one year. A minimum of two years' experience as a Licensed Psychologist is required.
  • At least one year of experience in a supervisory or administrative role.
  • Familiarity with cognitive-behavioral therapy techniques, mental health theories, and psychological assessment methods.

Position Responsibilities:

In collaboration with the Director of Psychology, you will formulate and implement a strategic plan for the Psychology Department, ensuring the delivery of essential psychological services, particularly focusing on competency restoration for Forensic Patients.

Oversee the Performance Improvement Plan for the psychology department, ensuring the clinical proficiency of staff members. You will be responsible for supervising personnel, delegating tasks, and evaluating staff performance. Provide strong leadership in program management, treatment planning, and service delivery.

Integrate psychological services with other professional disciplines and adapt new policies and procedures into existing frameworks. Ensure adherence to relevant codes, regulations, and operational procedures.

Develop necessary policies and procedures, including recommendations for community integration.

Engage in consultations with psychiatrists, physicians, and other professionals regarding diagnostic evaluations and therapeutic training programs. Ensure the unit operates efficiently and effectively while adhering to administrative, fiscal, and security standards.

Manage daily operations, including training in pertinent mental health areas and other relevant topics related to specific treatment services.

Conduct and/or oversee psychological assessments as referred by Psychiatry. Provide individual, group, and psycho-educational treatment services as needed.

Collaborate with the Medical Director, Supervisory Physicians, and Nursing staff concerning mental health treatment as applicable.

Exhibit strong leadership and organizational capabilities, managing multiple priorities effectively. Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to establish rapport with diverse personalities.

Possess competence in patient assessment, interviewing, and treatment. Show a commitment to enhancing cultural competency.

Perform additional duties as assigned by the Psychology Director.
