POSITION SUMMARY:

The Cybersecurity Systems Administrator, under the guidance of the Chief Information Security Officer, is tasked with the strategic execution of IT security protocols, best practices, and infrastructure to ensure uniform application of security measures throughout the organization. This role is crucial in maintaining information security controls, particularly when users or vendors seek access to internal or external systems, databases, and applications.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee daily management of security appliances and related software and hardware, including the resolution of security incidents.
  • Develop and implement auditing processes to address non-compliance with IT security standards, facilitating the transition of non-compliant environments to compliant ones.
  • Manage the administration of Advanced Threat Protection systems.
  • Collaborate in the planning and execution of security requirements for IT projects, providing recommendations for security applications to enhance protective measures.
  • Direct the incident response program and associated plans.
  • Evaluate available security tools and countermeasures to address identified vulnerabilities, recommending solutions and best practices. Assess and analyze potential damage to data/infrastructure from security incidents, reviewing recovery tools and processes, and suggesting or implementing appropriate solutions. Maintain and update current security policies and procedures, providing insights to the CISO.
  • Conduct information security risk assessments and manage Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) tasks regarding security concerns, offering recommendations to the CISO.
  • Ensure adherence to information security policies and procedures, aligning security strategies with organizational goals and standards. Regularly perform vulnerability scans on critical systems and report findings to relevant team leaders.
  • Assist the CISO in managing daily tasks related to security services and document all security policies, promoting awareness of security significance within the organization.
  • Lead initiatives to ensure compliance of network and server hardware, operating systems, software systems, and all related operational procedures with security standards.
  • Conduct risk-based assessments for proposed projects, including regular tabletop and full disaster recovery exercises. Perform cost-benefit analyses for proposed systems to support management in decision-making.
  • As needed, install and configure new hardware and software, maintaining logs related to network security operations, maintenance, changes, and repairs.
  • Plan, coordinate, and implement network security measures to safeguard data, software, and hardware.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

SUPERVISION REQUIREMENTS: None

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

· Associate degree or equivalent credits towards a Bachelor's degree.

· A minimum of 3 years of direct experience in an advanced Information Technology Security role.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

· Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.

· CompTIA Network Security+ Certification.

· CISSP Certification.

· Other information security certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISA, Sec+, etc.) are preferred.

· Bachelor's degree in a related field with one year of relevant experience, or an Associate's degree with three years of related experience, or four years of related experience.
