Seeking a Part-Time Culinary Specialist: Afternoon Shifts & Alternate Weekends
We are in search of a dedicated culinary professional to become a vital part of our team. The role of a Culinary Specialist within the food service department involves supporting the Dietary Director in fulfilling the nutritional needs of our residents while adhering to the cleanliness and food preparation standards mandated by state and federal regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare meals in compliance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations, as well as our established policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with the Dining Services Director to ensure that high-quality food service is consistently delivered.
Qualifications:
- Experience in a culinary role within an Independent/Assisted or Supportive Living environment is preferred.
- A high school diploma or equivalent, with successful completion of required training as per state regulations.
- Possession of a Food Handlers Permit as mandated by state regulations.
- Prior experience working with elderly individuals is advantageous.
- A genuine compassion for and commitment to serving the elderly population.
- Ability to work effectively both as part of a team and independently.
- Strong communication skills to interact with residents, families, staff, vendors, and the public.
- Compliance with all health requirements and successful completion of background checks.
- Commitment to maintaining sanitation standards in the kitchen area.
- Availability to work weekends and holidays as necessary.
