About the Role

DelDOT is seeking a skilled Physical Plant Maintenance/Trades Foreman to join our team. As a key member of our facilities maintenance team, you will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance and repair of our facilities, ensuring they are safe and operational.

Key Responsibilities

  • Schedule and coordinate maintenance activities to ensure timely completion of tasks.
  • Supervise and participate in work involving painting, carpentry, plumbing, installation, repair, and maintenance of systems and equipment.
  • Inspect job sites, determine courses of action, direct staff, and review assignments.
  • Schedule assignments, estimate cost, time, and materials.
  • Maintain records and prepare reports.
  • May be required to diagram structural and/or mechanical modifications and heating work.

Requirements

  • Three years of experience in operating and maintaining a variety of equipment, hand, and power tools used in trades fields such as plumbing, carpentry, painting, or HVAC.
  • Three years of experience in performing work in a variety of trades fields such as plumbing, carpentry, painting, or HVAC.
  • Six months of experience in estimating cost, time, and materials for projects.
  • Six months of experience in interpreting blueprints, schematics, or technical drawings.
  • Knowledge of interpreting safety and building codes, laws, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Knowledge of staff supervision acquired through coursework, academic training, training provided through an employer, or performing as a lead worker overseeing the work of others.
  • Possession of a valid Driver's License (not suspended, revoked, or cancelled, or disqualified from driving).

  • Criminal background check: A satisfactory criminal background check is required as a condition of hire.
