Lead Police Officer

This is a challenging opportunity to work as a Lead Police Officer with the U.S. Marine Corps. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for supervising police officers and providing guidance on law enforcement operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in law enforcement and excellent leadership skills.
Key Responsibilities
• Supervise police officers and provide guidance on law enforcement operations
• Assist in the planning and directing of watch activities
• Prepare absentee reports and watch schedules/lists
• Deploy police officers on motorized, bicycle, or walking patrols
• Direct police officers at fixed posts
• Control vehicle and personnel access to the installation
• Instruct field training officers
• Monitor and maintain criminal activity statistics
• Receive reports, maintain desk journals, and ensure accuracy of paperwork submitted
Requirements
• Must be a U.S. citizen
• Must pass a National Agency Check and local background check
• Must be determined suitable for federal employment
• Must participate in the direct deposit pay program
• Must meet medical standards for police officers in the DoD
• Must be able to read, write, and speak English
• Must be able to use all police equipment and certify in the use of radar detection and alcohol detection equipment, field sobriety tests, expandable/collapsible baton, and obtain certifications to accomplish the duties of a law enforcement officer
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and be able to maintain a U.S. Government emergency vehicle operator's license
Working Conditions
This position requires rotating shift work, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required. The incumbent must carry firearms and maintain proficiency in the use of assigned equipment. Must pass all weapons qualifications tests prior to assigned duties and responsibilities and pass all re-qualifications.
