Job Title: Bilingual Lead Organizer

Make the Road Connecticut is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Bilingual Lead Organizer to join our team. As a key member of our organizing team, you will play a critical role in planning, coordinating, and supporting regional campaigns and membership drives in Bridgeport.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate and implement campaigns through planning, action research, and coordination with community stakeholders.
  • Supervise a team of field organizers and provide support and training to ensure they meet their yearly organizer standards.
  • Engage allies across the region to advance local, state, and federal efforts that benefit the communities we serve.
  • Acquire stories from community members and prepare spokespeople to amplify their voices.
  • Report to the Organizing Director and work closely with them to meet campaign goals.
Requirements:
  • Eligibility to work in the US.
  • Full vaccination with COVID-19 vaccine prior to employment.
  • Minimum of an Associate Degree or Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated commitment to social justice, community organizing, leadership development, and elevating directly impacted and marginalized people.
  • At least five years of experience in community, labor, or other relevant organizing fields.
  • Supervisory experience preferred.
  • Bilingual: English-Spanish (written and verbally) is required.
  • Experience in leading and winning issue campaigns or other related campaign experience.
Competencies:
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, particularly with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Belief in the power of community organizing to create change.
  • Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Highly reflective and able to offer and receive feedback.
  • Discretion in handling confidential information.
  • Self-starter with strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Highly professional and team-oriented with a passion for excellence.
Benefits:

Make the Road Connecticut offers a competitive salary range of $66,312 to $78,652, an excellent benefit package, including health insurance, 401K, and generous paid vacation, sick, and personal days.
