POSITION SUMMARY: The Retail Associate plays a crucial role in delivering an exceptional shopping experience for our Customers. This position involves engaging with Customers through eye contact, friendly greetings, and maintaining a respectful atmosphere among Associates. The Retail Associate is responsible for adhering to company standards across various work areas, ensuring a tidy environment, and presenting merchandise effectively. The role requires active participation in assigned tasks throughout the work shift and may involve additional responsibilities as needed to meet Customer service and operational objectives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Prioritizes safety above all, demonstrating safe practices in every task.
  • Maintains vigilance on the sales floor to foster a secure shopping environment, ensuring clear access to emergency exits and promptly addressing any safety concerns.
  • Treats all Customers and colleagues with courtesy and professionalism, consistently recognizing team members through company acknowledgment programs.
  • Assists Customers by being knowledgeable about merchandise, operating the register, and addressing inquiries with a friendly demeanor. Ensures a warm welcome and expresses gratitude during every transaction.
  • Provides timely and efficient responses to Customer needs, addressing service calls promptly and resolving issues with a courteous approach, involving Store Leadership when necessary.
  • Upholds and promotes the Company brand in all interactions.
  • Conducts cleaning duties, including sweeping, mopping, and sanitizing high-touch areas to maintain a clean and welcoming environment for Customers and Associates.
  • Adheres to the Company’s dress code and maintains a professional appearance at all times.
  • Executes daily recovery and sizing tasks to ensure the store is organized and meets merchandising standards.
  • Expedites the placement of newly received merchandise on the sales floor, following company guidelines for presentation and ensuring familiarity with products to assist Customers effectively.
  • Understands and implements Loss Prevention strategies and merchandise protection standards.
  • Demonstrates integrity and honesty in all dealings with Customers and Associates, safeguarding sensitive information.
  • Complies with all policies regarding cash handling and transaction processing, maintaining accuracy and awareness in financial dealings.
  • Exhibits a proactive approach to work, maximizing productivity by following best practices and streamlining processes.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Strong communication skills to interact effectively with Customers, Associates, and Store Leadership.
  • Basic mathematical skills relevant to retail operations.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • Ability to operate store equipment, including registers and handheld devices.
  • Capability to spend the majority of working hours standing and moving throughout the store.
  • Regularly bend, squat, kneel, and lift items as needed.
  • Occasionally lift and carry items weighing over 25 pounds.
