Patient Care Technician

At Sentara, we're seeking a Patient Care Technician to join our team. As a Patient Care Technician, you'll work under the direct supervision of a professional nurse to implement delegated aspects of nursing care. Your primary duties will include supporting the admission/discharge process, changing, bathing, and ambulating patients, drawing blood, and providing foley catheter care. You'll also have the opportunity to learn many new skills and work in a team environment that values patient safety and quality care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the admission/discharge process
  • Provide patient care under the direction of a professional nurse
  • Draw blood and provide foley catheter care
  • Observe patients' physical, mental, and emotional conditions and report any changes to the nursing team

Requirements:

  • HS - High School Grad or Equivalent (Required)
  • AHA BLS certification within 90 days of hire
  • One year of healthcare experience preferred
