The Assistant Project Manager is dedicated to fulfilling customer expectations by providing comprehensive support throughout all phases of the project.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborates with the Project Manager to identify necessary resources, including personnel, tools, equipment, materials, and internal services for each project.
  • Assists in Preconstruction Services by preparing, reviewing, and monitoring financial reports related to project costs.
  • Supports the Project Manager in developing construction schedules and organizational matrices at the commencement of each project.
  • Helps create and manage project budgets effectively.
  • Assists in the preparation of bid packages and subcontractor scopes of work; organizes subcontractor pre-work meetings, documents minutes, and follows up on action items.
  • Ensures compliance with owner contract requirements, including bonds, fees, notifications, schedules, reporting, and costs.
  • Assists the Project Manager in defining roles for processing submittals, taking charge of complex trades when staffing is limited.
  • Verifies that all necessary documentation from subcontractors and suppliers is completed in a timely manner throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Establishes effective communication channels with suppliers and key stakeholders to ensure timely procurement and delivery of materials, tools, equipment, and personnel.
  • Maintains communication with all suppliers and subcontractors to ensure they are aware of performance standards related to schedules and specifications. In case of performance issues, coordinates with the Project Manager to determine appropriate actions.
  • Participates in all required planning, progress, and closeout meetings with project staff and stakeholders to address concerns, challenges, and unexpected situations.
  • Monitors project progress against schedules, compares actual costs to estimates, checks compliance with plans and specifications, reviews issues, and ensures the quality of work meets contractual and company standards.
  • Manages the project closeout process, ensuring all financial obligations are settled, resources are demobilized, and the project is transitioned smoothly to the client.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Building Science, Engineering, or a related field, along with 4 to 6 years of experience in leadership roles on various project sizes. A minimum of 7 years in the construction sector is preferred.
  • Exhibits strong leadership capabilities with a proactive approach to challenges, problem-solving, and motivating team members.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, meet various deadlines, and effectively network with staff, management, and clients.
  • Proficient in using personal computers and company communication tools, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical abilities.
