Key Responsibilities


- Conduct interviews with patients, guardians, and parents via phone to collect and verify demographic, physician, guarantor, and insurance information.

- Follow established patient interview protocols to ensure all necessary registration data is captured.

- Identify and address any insurance-related issues that may lead to claim denials or overpayments.

- Confirm insurance eligibility through online systems and manual verification to ensure coverage is active.

- Communicate with insurance companies and other departments on behalf of patients to resolve issues.

- Assist patients with the MyUofMHealth patient portal, including enrollment, activation, and account recovery.

- Recognize and address process and system challenges, escalating issues as necessary.

- Participate in operational meetings and discussions to represent the department effectively.

- Maintain high standards of customer service, confidentiality, and compliance.


Qualifications Required


- High school diploma or equivalent.

- Strong customer service and communication skills.

- Proficiency in computer usage.

- Ability to accurately enter large volumes of data.


Preferred Qualifications


- Experience in a healthcare environment.

- Familiarity with registration and billing processes.

- Knowledge of various health plans and regulatory requirements.

- Two years of experience in an office or customer service role with a strong attendance record.

- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented setting.

- Associate's or Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
