Key Responsibilities
  • Assist Anesthesia Providers: Collaborate with anesthesia providers to prepare patients for surgery, ensuring that all necessary equipment and supplies are available.
  • Perioperative Support: Provide support to the anesthesia care team during surgical procedures, including setting up and maintaining anesthesia equipment, monitoring patient vital signs, and assisting with patient positioning.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of anesthesia equipment, ensuring that all devices are in good working order.
  • Supply Management: Manage anesthesia supplies, including ordering and stocking of equipment and materials.
  • Quality Assurance: Participate in quality assurance activities, including monitoring and reporting on anesthesia-related metrics and contributing to the development of quality improvement initiatives.
  • Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other members of the anesthesia care team, including anesthesiologists, nurses, and surgical technologists, to ensure seamless communication and coordination of care.
Requirements
  • Education: Graduate of an accredited program in Anesthesia Technology with an AS degree or certified by the American Society of Technologists and Technicians (ASATT) as a Technologist.
  • Experience: Minimum one year of experience in a Cardiac OR and/or Level 1 trauma center.
  • Certifications: I.V. Certification or Anesthesia Technician Certificate from American Society of Anesthesia Technologists and Technicians, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, and Basic Life Support.
