Position: Senior Software Quality Assurance Engineer

Overview:

The role involves delivering software quality assurance for innovative medical device product development, encompassing various activities throughout the software development lifecycle (SDLC).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage in comprehensive product design control for both current and upcoming projects, ensuring a robust understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and design controls, including design input, risk management, design verification, design validation, and design output/transfer processes.
  • Facilitate and navigate essential processes and procedures to guarantee that product teams produce safe and effective medical devices.

Core Duties:

  • Implement and uphold the quality management system's effectiveness.
  • Participate in the development and review of design input, risk management, and design change activities.
  • Apply fundamental Risk Management principles and contribute to the creation and modification of Risk Management Files and FMEAs.
  • Understand and apply Design Verification/Validation methods, assisting in the development and review of relevant protocols and documentation.
  • Investigate complex complaints and defects, providing compliant solutions while ensuring thorough documentation.
  • Review project documentation for accuracy and compliance, planning assignments with varying levels of complexity.
  • Maintain awareness of industry standards and ensure adherence to quality policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with project teams and technical review boards, ensuring effective quality decisions across different groups.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Life Science, or a related field is required; a relevant combination of education and experience may also be considered.
  • A Master's degree is preferred, along with over four years of experience covering the entire software lifecycle and design control processes.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with tools such as HP Quality Center, Serena Business Manager, Siemens Teamcenter Product Data Management, and IBM DOORS is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with FDA regulations, Quality System Regulations (QSR), Medical Device Directives, ISO guidelines, and 21 CFR Part 11 is preferred.
  • Experience in software testing methodologies, particularly related to medical devices, is a plus.
