Job Title: School Psychologist

Job Summary:

The School Psychologist will be responsible for providing psychological assessments, individual and group counseling services, and crisis intervention efforts to students and staff at Arts in Action Community Charter School. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in child development, mental health, and education, and will be able to work effectively with diverse populations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct Psychological Assessments: The School Psychologist will conduct comprehensive psychological assessments to identify students' strengths, needs, and areas for improvement.
  • Provide Counseling Services: The School Psychologist will provide individual and group counseling services to students, focusing on social, emotional, and academic development.
  • Crisis Intervention: The School Psychologist will provide crisis intervention efforts to students and staff, including developing and implementing crisis response plans.
  • Collaboration with Staff: The School Psychologist will work closely with teachers, administrators, and other staff members to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavior intervention plans (BIPs).
  • Professional Development: The School Psychologist will participate in ongoing professional development to stay current on best practices in school psychology and to enhance their skills and knowledge.

Requirements:

  • Master's Degree: The School Psychologist must hold a master's degree or advanced degree in school psychology or a related field.
  • Credentialing: The School Psychologist must possess a Pupil Personnel Services Credential authorizing service as a school psychologist.
  • Experience: The School Psychologist must have experience working with children and adolescents in an educational setting.
  • Skills: The School Psychologist must possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
