Job Title: General Manager - Performance

Residence Inn Arlington is seeking a highly skilled and experienced General Manager to lead our hotel operations. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for driving hotel profitability through revenue generation, cost control, and guest satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct weekly staff meetings and training sessions to ensure employees are equipped with the skills and knowledge needed to deliver exceptional guest experiences.
  • Meet all financial review dates and corporate directed programs in a timely manner, ensuring accurate and transparent financial reporting.
  • Hold monthly financial reviews with department managers to discuss budgeted productivity levels and checkbook accounting procedures.
  • Develop and implement training programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of department heads and management personnel.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Sales to conduct daily HHBR meetings, focusing on prospecting and existing account calls, and potential business results.
  • Play a pivotal role in hotel sales efforts, including calling on top ten accounts, meeting clients, hosting luncheons and receptions, and meeting with on-site contacts.
  • Maintain direct contact with and monitor the development of management trainees.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures, ensuring compliance and training new managers.
  • Oversee and assist in the budget process as required, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Ensure training in service standards is taking place in each department, including compliance with company Garden Standard of the Week training.
  • Inspect rooms regularly with the Housekeeping Manager and Property Engineer to ensure cleanliness and maintenance standards are met.
  • Ensure all appropriate information for financial documents is received by the Corporate Office monthly, in compliance with the monthly accounting calendar.
  • Forecast monthly the hotel's financial position, estimating revenues and line-by-line expenses, and analyzing previous and projected data to generate an accurate reforecast.
  • Prepare and conduct all management interviews and follow hiring procedures according to company standards.
  • Perform all Executive Committee members performance appraisals according to company standards, ensuring managers are in compliance with performance appraisal procedures.
  • Motivate, coach, counsel, and discipline all management personnel according to company standards.
  • Perform any other duties as requested by the Vice President or Regional Director of Operations.

Requirements:

  • At least 6 years progressive experience in a hotel or a related field.
  • Ability to understand and evaluate complex information, data, etc.
  • Regular attendance in compliance with company standards, as required by scheduling.
  • Compliance with company standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations.
