Job Description

**Job Summary:**

The Area Service Manager will lead area operations and ensure excellent service is provided to our direct and distributor customers. This role will develop relationships both internally and externally, lead and train service technicians, and work with the sales team to win new business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Market Penetration: Assist the sales team in increasing market penetration by identifying new customers and developing relationships with distributors and brokers.
  • Customer Service: Ensure excellent service standards are met, provide technical field support and training as needed, and conduct site audits to ensure proper preventative maintenance is performed.
  • Operations Management: Oversee the execution and organization of parts, dispenser, equipment, and direct-ship product orders, as well as inventory management for direct customers.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and train service technicians, provide coaching and mentoring, and oversee direct reports with additional reports possible as the area grows.
  • Business Development: Work with the sales team to win new business, conduct install surveys, and foster frequent and clear communication between internal operations, distributors, and brokers to close business.
  • Vendor Management: Cultivate and manage distributor and broker relationships, facilitate frequent meetings, and set expectations on proper procedures for bringing on new business.
  • Installation and Maintenance: Install and maintain chemical dispensing systems, dish machines, and water softeners at restaurants, hotels, schools, and healthcare facilities.
  • Training and Development: Conduct site training at customer locations on proper equipment and chemical use, and oversee test locations to ensure all customer needs are met.
  • Rollouts and Coordination: Organize large rollouts, work with internal operations teams, and coordinate with customers to devise plans for flawless installations.

Requirements:

  • Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Experience: A minimum of 5 years' experience in the chemical sales/service industry, with a minimum of 5 years' experience managing distributor relationships.
  • Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel), ability to operate a smartphone, conduct internet research, and learn new technologies.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to lift with little to no restrictions, ability to travel by car and plane (valid driver's license required), and ability to follow safety standards that vary from site to site.
  • Personal Qualities: Organizational skills, ability to multi-task, proven ability to train others, strong sense of urgency, solid judgment, and decision-making skills.
