Job Overview

Position: Biomedical Technology Specialist

Proficiency in English and U.S. citizenship are essential, alongside a comprehensive understanding of DHA MED Log policies and procedures to guarantee adherence to healthcare technology coordination.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing medical equipment programs and developing educational curricula focused on medical technology utilization.
  • Overseeing medical device recall and safety initiatives, while executing capital asset planning for medical equipment in compliance with healthcare standards.
  • Serving as a subject matter expert on systems such as DMLSS and LogiCole, ensuring the effective deployment of medical technologies.
  • Advising on the viability and safety of medical equipment, managing its lifecycle, and ensuring compatibility with existing systems.
  • Collaborating with stakeholders and applying project management principles effectively.

Additionally, the role requires:

  • A thorough understanding of medical logistics software and tools.
  • Expertise in conducting evaluations to integrate medical devices with MEDCOI and MHS Genesis systems.
  • Standardizing property and equipment processes to maintain compliance with DHA directives.
  • Developing a program for monitoring financial liability and ensuring accurate reporting of Internal Use Software data.
  • Providing PMO oversight for medical device logistics and cybersecurity measures within the RMF framework.

Moreover, the candidate will:

  • Facilitate the adoption of new technologies, focusing on innovation and system integration.
  • Regularly update SOPs to reflect current practices and ensure alignment with governmental regulations.
  • Engage in acquisition support to ensure compliance with all relevant laws and policies.
  • Conduct analysis and provide guidance for the development of complex patient care systems.
  • Offer technical support and implement Health Technology Management (HTM) programs for equipment support.

Finally, the role involves overseeing the maintenance of medical systems, ensuring functionality and safety, and providing specialized assistance to staff. The candidate must meet the criteria for a government security clearance and may be required to provide proof of immunization.
