Job Summary

Nauticus Robotics is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Mechanical Engineering Technician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the organization of our engineering shop, overseeing the assembly, integration, and testing of subsea robotic systems, and collaborating with the engineering team to develop and implement design improvements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the assembly, integration, and testing of subsea robotic systems.
  • Perform maintenance, repairs, and upgrades on existing equipment.
  • Collaborate with the engineering team to develop and implement design improvements.
  • Maintain accurate records of equipment maintenance and repairs.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and protocols.
  • Manage inventory and procurement of necessary materials and components.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical issues with subsea robotic systems.
  • Train and mentor junior technicians to enhance their skills and knowledge as needed.
Requirements
  • Associates or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Proven experience (5+ years) in mechanical engineering, with a focus on complex machinery or robotics.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Proficiency in CAD software for design and drafting.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Hands-on experience with machining, welding, and fabrication.
  • Familiarity with hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Understanding of subsea environments and challenges.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certification in welding or machining.
  • Experience in a subsea or marine-related industry.
  • Knowledge of underwater sensors and imaging systems.
  • Familiarity with programming and control systems (e.g., PLCs).
  • Experience with project management.
  • Knowledge of relevant industry standards and regulations.
  • Previous experience in a shop management or supervisory role.
