Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and interpret repair orders, planning the necessary work.
  • Work collaboratively with Parts Advisors and other Service Department personnel to obtain required parts and accessories.
  • Conduct Maine State Inspections.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, fluid checks, and tire rotations.
  • Diagnose and repair vehicles to manufacturer specifications using a variety of tools.
  • Complete detailed reports on customer repair orders, ensuring all tasks are performed efficiently and safely.
  • Communicate repair information to the Production Manager and/or Service Advisor, documenting all work in the DMS system.
  • Guide and mentor entry-level technicians to enhance their skills.
  • Review completed work to ensure high-quality repairs.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment, adhering to company policies and procedures.
  • Stay current with Factory and Dealer Training and Certification requirements.
  • Accurately log time spent on repairs using company timekeeping procedures.
  • Ensure all diagnostic worksheets and factory documentation standards are met.
  • Notify the Production Manager or Service Manager of any supply issues or equipment concerns.
  • Foster positive working relationships with fellow technicians and Service Department staff.

Work Environment and Physical Demands:

The Skilled Technician role may require working in various temperature and weather conditions, both indoors and outdoors. Our service department is equipped with air conditioning for comfort. The position involves frequent exposure to noise and hazardous machinery, as well as potential exposure to high temperatures and chemicals. Physical requirements include prolonged periods of sitting, standing, bending, and the ability to lift up to 100 pounds.

Experience Required:

  • Minimum of 2 years in Automotive Service
