Job Summary

The Shyft Group, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as an Assembly Line Technician. In this role, you will be responsible for assembling and installing various truck body parts, working in a fast-paced production environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assembly and Installation: Assemble and install various truck body parts, including but not limited to, truck bodies and specialty vehicles.
  • Mechanical Skills: Possess mechanical aptitude and be skilled with hand, air, and power tools.
  • Attention to Detail: Maintain a high level of attention to detail and be meticulous about work quality.
  • Teamwork: Work effectively as a team member, rotating to other workstations as needed.
  • Quality and Safety: Perform work within acceptable quality, quantity, performance, and safety standards.
  • Supply Management: Obtain supplies and parts required to complete tasks.
  • Assistance: Assist other employees when assembly work is not required.
  • Cleanliness: Maintain a clean department and surrounding work areas.
  • 5S Advancements: Assist the team in implementing 5S principles.
  • Lean Principles: Assist in the implementation of Lean principles.
Requirements
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Experience: A minimum of 12 months manufacturing experience, preferably in the Automotive, RV, or Boat industry.
  • License: Valid driver's license required.
  • Attendance: Good attendance is essential.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to use ladders, enter and exit trucks, and lift up to 50lbs.
  • Tools and Equipment: Ability to use air and electric powered tools, including drills, hammer drills, torque wrenches, and air tools.
  • Communication: Ability to read and understand work orders, directions, charts, forms, and safety regulations.
  • Measurement: Ability to correctly use and read various gauges.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work well with other employees in a team environment.
  • Reading: Ability to read a tape measure to a (1/16) of an inch.
