Key Responsibilities:

The ERM & Compliance Project Director plays a pivotal role in delivering high-quality services to internal and external members by upholding our values of Care, Listen, Learn, Solve, and Act.

This position is responsible for executing company-wide credit union projects, including system conversions and mergers, ensuring seamless alignment with regulatory compliance requirements and risk mitigation strategies.

Essential Duties:

  • Lead the compliance and ERM aspects of major projects, guaranteeing that all processes and systems are in sync with regulatory demands.
  • Prepare and submit regulatory applications, serving as the primary contact for mergers and acquisitions.
  • Conduct thorough risk assessments, vendor reviews, and contract analyses to minimize potential liabilities and ensure adherence to regulatory standards.
  • Develop and implement process improvements to enhance risk management and compliance, collaborating closely with the ERM/Compliance teams.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure effective implementation of major projects, maintaining harmony with standard processes and procedures.
  • Create and update disclosures as necessary for Major Projects Team initiatives, ensuring transparency and adherence to regulatory requirements.
Requirements:

To succeed in this role, candidates should possess:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Risk Management, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in Credit Unions, Financial Institutions, or the Financial Industry, with expertise in consumer-centric business considerations.
  • Lean Six Sigma or equivalent certification, preferably obtained within the first year of employment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and credit union systems (Corelation Keystone, Meridian Link, ERM software), with rapid learning capabilities.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with exceptional time management, organization, and attention to detail.
  • A strong ability to work effectively in a team environment, motivating and directing colleagues to achieve shared objectives.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to adapt to diverse audiences and situations.
  • Credit union compliance certification, preferably acquired within the first year of employment.
Working Conditions:

This role requires:

  • Sedentary work with minimal physical exertion, occasional lifting of up to 10 lbs, and the ability to climb/descend stairs in emergency situations.
  • Routine use of office equipment, including computers, telephones, copiers, facsimiles, and calculators.
  • Regular, reliable attendance, with flexibility to work extended hours or travel off-site as required or requested by management.
  • Ability to perform job functions independently or with limited supervision, working effectively in a team environment.

Salary Estimate: $93,500 - $120,000 per annum, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
