Position Overview

The Nursing Manager plays a pivotal role in delivering exceptional nursing care to residents on designated floors. This position entails supervising Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) and Home Health Aides (HHAs) in the execution of tailored resident care plans. The Nursing Manager is also responsible for fostering a safe and therapeutic environment while guiding and supervising the nursing team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver personalized nursing care to residents, adhering to established protocols. Monitor and assess for pain, oxygen therapy, drainage, dressings, and incontinence.
  • Conduct thorough assessments of residents' physical, emotional, social, educational, and functional needs through observation and interviews.
  • Analyze assessment data to contribute to the development of comprehensive care plans.
  • Ensure accurate transcription and timely processing of medical orders, integrating them into nursing care.
  • Administer medications in accordance with established policies and procedures, documenting appropriately.
  • Maintain precise and timely documentation aligned with the resident care plan.
  • Compile resident charts and records, ensuring all necessary forms are completed promptly.
  • Prepare incident reports as required, notifying relevant parties and documenting accordingly.
  • Support residents in developing self-care skills.
  • Oversee nursing assignments and provide clear instructions to team members.
  • Monitor meal times to ensure residents receive appropriate diets and assistance.
  • Manage resources effectively to meet the needs of the assigned unit.
  • Recognize emergencies and take appropriate action.
  • Ensure timely responses to resident call lights and address their needs promptly.
  • Assist in the orientation of new staff members.
  • Coordinate scheduled activities on the unit with the help of activity and nursing personnel.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: Minimum of 1 year in a nursing role within a healthcare setting.
  • Licensure: Valid LPN/LVN or RN license, with an active license in the state of operation.
  • Language Proficiency: Proficient in English for effective communication with residents and staff.
Skills and Attributes

  • Proficient in clinical procedures, including emergency response and skin management.
  • Ability to work empathetically with residents facing various challenges.
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
