Position Overview:
The Registered Nurse in the Float Pool plays a pivotal role in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care across various departments. Utilizing evidence-based practices and clinical judgment, the nurse is dedicated to fostering a safe and effective environment for patients. The RN is responsible for the comprehensive coordination of care, ensuring a seamless transition for patients within the healthcare system.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide and manage patient care through thorough assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation in line with established protocols.
- Engage in continuous professional development by participating in committees and governance activities.
- Adapt to various patient populations and clinical settings, enhancing skills and competencies in diverse areas of nursing.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes and experiences.
- Graduate from an accredited nursing program with a valid Illinois RN license.
- BSN preferred; ADN acceptable with a commitment to complete a BSN program within four years for less experienced nurses.
- Current AHA CPR certification.
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and varying shifts as needed.
- Ability to assist in emergency situations and respond to patient needs promptly.
- Capable of lifting up to 35 pounds independently, with appropriate equipment for heavier lifts.
