Assistant Professor of Chicanx/Latinx Arts and Social Engagement

We are seeking a dedicated and innovative Assistant Professor specializing in Chicanx/Latinx Arts and Social Engagement to join our esteemed faculty. This role is part of a tenure-track faculty position within the College of Ethnic Studies at California State University, Los Angeles.
Key Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
1. Delivering high-quality instruction at both undergraduate and graduate levels, focusing on Chicanx/Latinx art and its societal implications.
2. Engaging in impactful research and creative activities that contribute to the fields of Chicanx/Latinx Studies and Art and Social Practice.
3. Mentoring students and fostering their academic and professional growth.
4. Collaborating with colleagues within the College of Ethnic Studies and engaging with community partners to enhance educational outcomes.
5. Participating in departmental and university service, including committee work and community outreach.
Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements:
1. A terminal degree (Ph.D. or M.F.A.) in a relevant field is required at the time of application.
2. Proven experience in teaching at the undergraduate level.
3. A record of research and creative work in scholarly journals, exhibitions, or community projects related to Chicanx/Latinx Studies.
Preferred Qualifications:
1. A creative practice that emphasizes community engagement and addresses issues pertinent to diverse Latinx populations.
2. Experience teaching comparative Ethnic Studies courses.
3. Expertise in feminist and intersectional methodologies within Ethnic Studies.
4. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with local organizations and community members.
