About the Role

The Director, Strategic Planning and Optimization will play a critical role in driving the long-term success of SFO by leading the development and implementation of strategic plans to optimize the utilization of Terminal facilities. This includes capacity and forecast modeling to support terminal operations and strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to optimize Terminal facility utilization
  • Conduct capacity and forecast modeling to support terminal operations and strategic decision-making
  • Identify and mitigate potential operational or facilitation challenges
  • Provide regular reports and updates to the Managing Director on operations and performance
  • Collaborate with the Director, Operations to ensure the success of SFO
  • Represent SFO leadership as necessary
  • Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including airlines, service contractors, and regulatory agencies
  • Provide leadership and direction to the operations department and contracted service provider staff
  • Monitor and track performance metric data (KPIs) and provide regular updates to the Managing Director
  • Ensure effective allocation of resources to achieve strategic objectives
Requirements
  • 8+ years of leadership experience in commercial aviation
  • BA/BS in Business; MA/MS or MBA a plus
  • Strong strategic thinking, planning, and analytical abilities
  • In-depth knowledge and management experience in commercial aviation required
  • Naturally collaborative team player with excellent communication skills
  • Demonstrated success in driving business growth
  • Skilled at managing people/teams
