Job Summary

The Carter Center is seeking an experienced Associate Director to lead the Rule of Law Program. This is a key role in our organization, and we are looking for a highly skilled professional to manage projects, develop strategies, and collaborate with stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement project plans, budgets, and timelines
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to achieve program goals
  • Manage project staff, interns, and consultants
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders
  • Ensure program compliance with federal and international laws and regulations
  • Represent the program in national and international forums
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and six years of experience, or equivalent combination
  • Post-graduate degree and seven years of experience in access to justice, law, public policy, human rights, transparency/accountability, and/or good governance
  • Programming experience in access to justice or rule of law projects, particularly in issues relating to access to information
  • Experience in identifying and addressing challenges related to project management and complex administrative systems
  • Knowledge of US Government funding regulations and compliance issues
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in Southeast Asia, including in countries experiencing political instability
  • Familiarity with NGOs and project-based fundraising
  • Ability to travel internationally
