Job Summary

The Carter Center is seeking an experienced Associate Director of Programs to join our team. This role will assist with the end-stage of the Guinea Worm Eradication Programs (GWEPs) in one or more Guinea worm-affected countries.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with the planning, development, and operations of the GWEPs.
  • Collaborate with representatives from private, government, and international agencies to achieve program goals.
  • Plan, execute, and monitor program budgets, including approval of expenditures.
  • Prepare annual financial and program reports to external parties.
  • May engage in fundraising initiatives on behalf of the program.
  • Ensure that the program is in compliance with federal and international laws and regulations.
  • Oversee program communications, including development of communications strategies and production of print and electronic materials.
  • Represent the program in various national and international fora.
  • May supervise program staff.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a field related to the program, such as public health or international development, and six years of program-related experience, or an equivalent combination of experience, education, and training.
  • Master's degree in a field related to the program and five years of program-related experience, or an equivalent combination of experience, education, and training.
  • French language proficiency required.
  • Portuguese proficiency preferred.
