Position Overview:
The National Association for Catering and Events is seeking an enthusiastic individual to enhance our event management team. This role is ideal for someone passionate about orchestrating events and eager to craft a strategic approach that aligns with our organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities:
As an Event Coordination Specialist, you will be responsible for:

  • Conceptualizing, planning, and executing a variety of events that resonate with our mission.
  • Conducting thorough assessments of existing events and proposing innovative strategies to elevate our event offerings.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless event execution, including logistics such as venue selection, catering, technical support, and volunteer coordination.
  • Managing a diverse range of events, from donor appreciation gatherings to alumni receptions and community engagement activities.
  • Contributing creative ideas to foster a sense of community among stakeholders, including members, partners, and attendees.
  • Working closely with finance and leadership to align event budgets with organizational policies while ensuring a memorable experience for participants.
  • Documenting processes and creating templates to streamline future event planning.
  • Maintaining relationships with vendors, speakers, and service units to ensure successful event outcomes.

Event Execution and Management:
You will oversee all logistical aspects of events, ensuring that every detail is executed flawlessly. This includes:

  • Managing on-site operations and serving as the primary contact during events.
  • Evaluating event success through feedback and analysis, providing insights for future improvements.

Administrative Support:
In addition to event planning, you may assist with various marketing initiatives, including:

  • Organizing digital content and managing communications.
  • Supporting the marketing team with administrative tasks during event planning lulls.

Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A bachelor's degree in hospitality, marketing, or a related field, or equivalent event planning experience.
  • 3-5 years of comprehensive experience in event planning and management.
  • Familiarity with project management tools to keep projects on track.
  • A collaborative spirit and the ability to build strong working relationships.
  • Experience in higher education or with similar organizations is a plus.
