Health Advocates is in search of a Patient Eligibility Specialist to support our client hospital operations.

Position Overview
The role of the Eligibility Specialist involves assisting patients and claimants in determining their eligibility for various governmental assistance programs such as Medi-Cal, VOC, SSI/SSDI, and TPL, following established protocols. Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting assessments via phone or in-person to evaluate eligibility.
- Completing and submitting necessary applications to the relevant county offices.
- Coordinating with patients, families, and county representatives to ensure case completion.
- Maintaining and updating patient information in the hospital's database.
- Traveling to different hospital sites as required to provide additional support.
- Participating in weekly meetings to provide updates on cases.
- Performing other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
• High School diploma or GED equivalent is mandatory.
• 1-2 years of experience in customer service or office settings, preferably in healthcare.
• Proficient office skills and computer literacy are essential.
• Prior experience with Medi-Cal is advantageous.
• Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to adapt in a dynamic environment.
• Typing speed of at least 30 words per minute is required.
Compensation
Pay Rate: $23.40-$30.42 per hour, commensurate with experience.
