We are seeking an Account Manager to join our Customer Channels Group / Fisher Scientific, a division of Thermo Fisher Scientific, to support our most significant clients in Austria.

Reporting to the Senior Regional Sales Manager, you will be tasked with driving sales and providing support to our clients while enhancing profitability through effective territory planning and organization of sales calls and visits.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Drive sales of Biotech-specific products, support supplier partnerships, and actively promote core products and valuable services.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of Thermo Fisher Scientific's sales positioning and its products relevant to your market segment. Utilize this knowledge to effectively demonstrate the strengths and breadth of the organization by building and maintaining a strong network within Thermo Fisher Scientific.
  • Communicate the tailored Thermo Fisher Scientific value proposition to key clients.
  • Meet or exceed sales and margin targets for your designated territory.
  • Formulate and execute strategic and tactical sales plans for your territory to achieve revenue and gross margin goals using company-defined financial models.
  • Maintain strong customer relationships and ensure continued market penetration and profitability through in-depth engagement with scientific end users and purchasing contacts.
  • Utilize communication and influencing skills to effectively leverage internal resources and enhance selling time.
  • Work to drive product sales and enhance service offerings.
  • Collaborate closely with fellow sales team members within the customer base.
  • Implement strategies for assigned Program and non-Program accounts.
  • Identify and fulfill customer requirements while addressing valuable business opportunities.
  • Stay aligned with metrics on essential elements of personal administration and maintain the sales force automation system.
  • Review, maintain, and lead compliance with key performance indicators, including sales performance, call planning, call rate, and opportunity management.
Keys to Success:
  • Sales experience or a highly motivated newcomer.
  • Experience in scientific fields and/or laboratory management, particularly with laboratory equipment, consumables, chemicals, and life-science products.
  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in a scientific discipline or equivalent work experience.
  • Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication, and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and web applications, along with experience using sales force software.
  • A commercial mindset, driven by a desire to secure new business.
  • Fluency in German and English.
  • Excellent interpersonal/collaboration, time management, communication, presentation, strategic selling, and negotiation skills.
  • A confident personality, capable of engaging effectively with clients across various settings, including one-on-one meetings, exhibitions, and formal presentations.
