Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Patient Access Representative I to join our team at Stanford Health Care. As a key member of our Patient Access Services team, you will be responsible for completing patient admissions and registration functions, identifying patients' insurance coverage, and handling routine customer service inquiries.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assure secure handling and accurate recording of payments collected at the point-of-service delivery.
  • Build a foundational understanding of different health insurance coverage options and related processes and procedures.
  • Handle routine/simple patient escalations and perform service recovery.
  • Escalate any advanced or complex registrations to a more experienced team member.
  • Provide excellent customer service to all individuals with whom the employee has contact.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • One (1) year of progressively responsible and directly related work experience.
  • Ability to speak and write effectively at a level appropriate for the job.
  • Ability to work well with individuals at all levels of the organization.
  • Knowledge of computer systems and software used in functional area.
  • Knowledge of Medical Terminology such as Medicare, Medi-Cal, Workers Comp, Managed Care (HMO, PPO, POS, etc.), Children's Health Programs (CCS, GHPP, Healthy Families, etc.).
