Job Summary

The Medical Assistant at Marshall Medical Center plays a vital role in ensuring the delivery of effective medical care to patients. This position works closely with providers and staff to maintain continuity of patient care, ensuring the utmost patient satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare patients for examinations and assist providers as needed
Complete medication refills, lab result follow-ups, referrals to specialists, patient callbacks, and orders for medical supplies
Clean and sterilize medical equipment and exam rooms
Float to other clinics when needed and perform other duties to support the overall goals of Marshall Medical Clinics

Requirements

Completion of a Medical Assistant Program or previous Medical Assistant experience preferred
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
Previous experience with injections, EKGs, medication administration, and/or taking vital signs required
Basic computer/data entry and electronic medical record (EMR) experience required
Knowledge of medical terminology, patient/family health education required

Preferred Qualifications

Current Medical Assistant (MA) certification from the California Certified Medical Assistant Board (CCMA) or the National American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) required
Strong organizational skills and the ability to reprioritize work demands as needed
Pleasant and friendly demeanor and ability to maintain a positive and team-oriented attitude
